touchez is an attempt to respond to the identity crisis plaguing modern percussionists.

This vast family of instruments has evolved to become different perspectives and transdisciplinary aesthetics through the addition of electronic devices, the emergence of body consciousness on the stage of the ‘Percussion Theater’ or the body itself used as an instrument.

The performance of works from the experimental tradition of John Cage led the trio to present and research the music of Wandelweiser composer Michael Pisaro, James Tenney, Cathy van Eck, Michael Maierhof and to collaborate with Carlos Lopes on the premiere of his ‘Myoclonus’.

touchez was born in 2017/2018 by João Brito, João Calado and Paulo Amendoeira, in Lisbon, at the Metropolitana, where they studied.
